Model Classroom Lessons:
Constructing Knowledge

During our classes about the sun and how important it is to us and to life on earth, many questions came up.  Some, we knew would be natural questions, given the topic; others were stimulated by class conversations, or by a story or a part of a book which we were reading together.

Throughout this process, science skills of  observation, description, and recording data were practiced.

What makes day and night?

How does the sun help it to rain?

How big is the sun?

How do plants grow?

How do we get energy from the sun?
