How big is the sun compared to earth?

Young children have a difficult time imagining size and proportion.  One way to help them to understand how big the sun is is to compare it with earth and use a variety of non-traditional measurements to make the comparison.  We used our bodies.  One child was the earth; however, the line of 109 earths to make the sun went out the door and the comparative value was lost.  Below shows students using classroom materials to make the comparison.
