Seeds
Where does it all begin?

Recommended
children's literature: "The Tiny Seed" by Eric Carle
and "The Surprise Garden" by Zoe
Hall.
We looked
at all different types of seeds and even tasted a few (sunflower and
pumpkin). Every thing that grows in our garden began with one seed.
That tiny seed needs warmth from sun, water, soil and oxygen to grow. We eat the
fruits and vegetables from the seeds to give us energy. We were pleased
to discover that the seeds themselves can also provide energy to animals
and birds that live in our neighborhood.
Now we
can plant anything in our imaginary gardens with the help of the sun's energy,
so we planned and designed our own gardens using construction paper and
special bright crayons.
